it will be understandable if you want to be in three (or four) places at once on Thursday, August 5. In addition to the previously scheduled screening of the documentary Signs of the Time (Crystal Pix, 2009) and the visit to the Ty Cobb Museum and Gravesite in Royston, GA, we've added two more exciting events to the schedule.
At 6:30, Jeff Freedman of FSPR will be discussing the making of the film Moneyball, which is currently in production. Based on the best-selling book by Michael Lewis, Moneyball tells the story of Oakland A's General Manager Billy Beane and how he used a sabermetric approach to developing a competitive team on a low budget.
And at 7:30 that same evening at Charis Books & More (1189 Euclid Ave NE) will host an evening of Women Writing Baseball with Dorothy Seymour Mills, Christina Kahrl, Judith Testa, and Ceciila Tan. Join us for an evening of great baseball writing by authors who just happen to be women.
