Here are our national gatherings held each year:
SABR Day, held annually on the Saturday a week before the Super Bowl, is a chance for all baseball fans to come together on the same day regardless of where they live. Dozens of our regional chapters hold meetings on that day. Visit SABR.org/sabrday for more information and a list of SABR Day events in your area.
During spring training in Phoenix, Arizona, we'll bring the top minds of the baseball analytic community under one roof to discuss, debate and share learnings of insightful ways to analyze and examine the great game of baseball. The schedule will consist of guest speakers, panels and research presentations — plus the SABR Case Competition, in which graduate students will analyze and present a real baseball operations decision. Visit SABR.org/analytics for more information.
Hosted by SABR's Nineteenth Century Research Committee in Cooperstown, New York, join us for two days at the National Baseball Hall of Fame covering a wide range of 19th-century baseball topics. The conference is open to all SABR members and limited non-member guests. The conference includes a private dinner at the splendorous Otesaga Hotel, along with research presentations, panel discussions, spotlight interviews and book signings at the Hall of Fame. The SABR national convention is an annual gathering of writers, researchers, fans, players, executives, scouts and many others throughout the baseball community. Attendance is open to all, regardless of SABR membership. The convention includes five days of activities and excursions, including dozens of research presentations, panel discussions and group trips to major league and minor league ballgames. Hosted by SABR's Negro Leagues Committee, the Malloy Conference is the only symposium dedicated exclusively to the examination and promotion of black baseball history. Our annual Arizona Fall League Conference is highlighted by AFL games at multiple ballparks in the Phoenix area over a three-day weekend, often including the premier Rising Stars Game televised on MLB Network. Past conferences have included visits to the "Play Ball: The Cactus League Experience" museum exhibit, attending the Arizona Major League Alumni awards dinner, and SABR Flame Delhi Chapter meetings with guest speakers that include major league players, umpires, executives and media.
