2023 SABR Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference Schedule

SABR’s Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference was held on July 20-23, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan. All baseball fans are welcome to attend.


Thursday, July 20

Walter P. Reuther Library, Wayne State University 5401 Cass Ave., Detroit

  • 9:00-11:30 a.m.: Educational forum conducted by Dr. Leslie Heaphy
  • 12:00-1:00 p.m.: Lunch on your own

St. Regis Hotel 3071 E. Grand Blvd., Detroit

  • 12:15-4:15 p.m.: Conference Registration at St. Regis Hotel
  • 1:00 p.m.: Bus tour leaves St. Regis Hotel for Wright Museum of African American History and other Detroit baseball sites, including Meet & Greet Reception.
  • 4:30 p.m.: Second bus leaves St. Regis Hotel to Meet & Greet Reception (for those not on tour).

Hamtramck Stadium 3201 Dan St., Hamtramck

  • 4:45-6:45 p.m.: Meet & Greet Reception at Hamtramck Stadium
  • 6:45 p.m.: Bus leaves to return to St. Regis Hotel

Entrance to Tiger Den is on Montcalm St. on the north side of the ballpark. Recommended QLine stop is Montcalm St.
