The Baseball Heritage Museum in Conjunction with October Productions Presents
A Salute to Tom Manning and “The Kid From Cleveland”
Join baseball and movie fans for a fun-filled day starting off in the morning as we salute Tom Manning, the first Voice of the Indians. Learn about Manning and the dawn of baseball broadcasting through presentations, audio clips, and special guest—broadcaster and historian Ted Patterson, author of The Golden Voices of Baseball.
After a break for lunch at your choice of local restaurants, be part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the baseball film “The Kid From Cleveland.” The film features 10 Baseball Hall of Famers and Cleveland of 1949. We are happy to welcome actor Tommy Cook back to Cleveland. Mr. Cook—Dan Hudson in the film—will answer questions and talk about “The Kid From Cleveland” and his long career in movies, television, and radio.
Enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks. Throughout the day you will have chances to win prizes, purchase memorabilia, and look at museum displays.
The Baseball Heritage Museum is located in the Colonial Marketplace at 530 Euclid Avenue (between Euclid and Prospect) in downtown Cleveland’s Historic Gateway Neighborhood.
Admission is $10 per person with kids under 16 years old admitted free of charge.
