Important Message to AOL Subscribers
The SABR-L mailing list is a moderated forum which encourages and facilitates research and information exchange among SABR members. Participation in SABR-L is both a benefit and a privilege of SABR membership, and all SABR members with Internet access are encouraged to take part. Since its founding in 1995, the list's subscriber rolls have grown steadily in number, and as of this writing over 1000 members are subscribed. On a typical day, the list sees between 15-25 posts on a wide variety of baseball topics. A complete subject index, along with the corresponding log numbers, has been compiled and maintained by Stephen Roney and is now available on this site.
To subscribe to SABR-L, send a message to the address LISTSERV@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM. In the body of the message, put the line
SUBSCRIBE SABR-L Firstname Lastname
using your name in place of 'Firstname Lastname'. Your request will be forwarded to the list maintainer, who, after verifying your SABR membership, will add you to the list.
You can receive the list in two forms. By default, you will receive the digest format which sends a whole day's messages to you in one email (sent out at midnight Eastern time each night). An immediate mode format is also available, in which you will receive the messages as they are sent to SABR-L.
To switch to the immediate mode to receive each post individually, send a message to LISTSERV@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM. In the body of the message, put the line
SET SABR-L NODIGEST
To switch back to the digest format, send a message to LISTSERV@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM. In the body of the message, put the line
SET SABR-L DIGEST
A complete archive of the list's past posts is available. General instructions on the archive are available at SABR-L Archive, with the index itself being accessible through the SABR-L Index. While the subject index is available to anyone, the logs containing the messages themselves can only be accessed by current SABR-L subscribers.
