Dick Thompson

Dick Thompson was a SABR member from 1979 until his death in 2008. He received the Bob Davids Award in 2004 for his extensive research efforts and frequent contributions to the Baseball Research Journal, The National Pastime, and the SABR BioProject. He also wrote a full-length book, The Farrell Brothers of Baseball (McFarland, 2005). One of Dick’s last biographical essays was about legendary Negro baseball pitcher Cannonball Bill Jackman, which was published in the 2007 edition of SABR’s The National Pastime: A Review of Baseball History.
