She is the author of Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes; a host of the ABC News podcast Reclaimed: The Forgotten League; an educator; and a former Division I collegiate athlete from Detroit, Michigan. She has worked in public education for nearly two decades, teaching English and history. She continues to honor her grandfather’s legacy through Hall of Fame DNA.

Bianca Smith became the first African-American woman to serve as a professional baseball coach when she was hired by the Boston Red Sox in December 2020. She served as a minor league coach at the Red Sox complex in Fort Myers, Florida, for two seasons and now works in Japan as a Sports Exchange Advisor with the JET Program in Higashikawa, Hokkaido. After graduating from Dartmouth College, where she played varsity softball and club baseball, Bianca pursued her dual JD/MBA at Case Western Reserve University, where she also worked as the Director of Baseball Operations. Previously, she worked in Baseball Operations for the Texas Rangers and the Cincinnati Reds, in Amateur Administration at the MLB’s Commissioner’s Office, as an assistant baseball coach for the University of Dallas, and as a youth baseball and softball coach for the Rangers, Reds, and Milwaukee Brewers Academies.

Dave Stewart is a former star pitcher and MLB executive, and current television analyst for NBC Sports Bay Area. He won 168 games and three World Series championships during his 16-season career from 1978 to 1995, spent mostly with the Oakland A’s and Los Angeles Dodgers. He won 20 or more games for four consecutive seasons from 1987 to 1990, granting him membership in the prestigious Black Aces club, and was named MVP of the 1989 World Series. He has also worked as a scout, pitching coach, player agent, and general manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

During their senior year of high school, they started a blog and Twitter account called Cespedes Family BBQ as a tribute to one of their favorite players, Yoenis Céspedes. Since graduating from college in 2017 — Jake from Washington University in St. Louis and Jordan from the College of Wooster in Ohio — they’ve worked together at MLB.com, DAZN, The Ringer, and currently write for FOX Sports.
