This Week in SABR: April 15, 2011

Here’s an update of what we’ve been up to as of April 15, 2011:

Celebrating the ‘Old Perfessor’

SABR members Marty Appel, Dan Fost, Steven Goldman, Jim Kaplan and Steve Steinberg led a panel discussion on “The Old Perfessor”, baseball icon Casey Stengel, on April 14 at the Museum of the City of New York. Stengel was the only man to wear all four uniforms representing New York City: the Giants, Dodgers, Yankees and Mets.

The event was co-sponsored by the Boston Braves Historical Association, the Casey Stengel Baseball Center, SABR’s Casey Stengel Chapter and the Connecticut Smoky Joe Wood Chapter, the New York Giants Baseball Club, the New York Giants (Baseball) Nostalgia Society, the Westchester Baseball Group and the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center.
