Larry Doby Chapter meeting recap – 2/20/2020
The Larry Doby Chapter met on February 20, 2020, at Apex Athletic Performance in Columbia, South Carolina, and it was an enjoyable event. We covered various topics and the most lively discussion came from sign Stealing. Thanks to one of the members attending, Jerry Gauthier, he found a history on sign stealing and it includes letters from the commish’s office.
Also, we learned Tina Whitlock will be heading to Florida for spring training and to start her new career in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Also we celebrated Tina’s birthday, which is actually tomorrow. Happy Birthday, Tina! Enjoy your new position with the Cards.
Another topic that brought up some interesting banter was the Hall of Fame voting results from last month. It wasn’t so much for the players that were elected, but for certain players that were not elected.
At this time, I am open to suggestions for a location, day and time for our next meeting. I look forward to seeing new faces!
