Eighteen members of the Bob Broeg St. Louis Chapter attended the October 22 monthly roundtable, held at its usual location, The Original Crusoe’s Restaurant in South St. Louis.
Discussion centered on the World Series between the Cardinals and Red Sox, which was scheduled to begin the next day in Boston. Members also looked back at the recently completed NLCS, in which the Cardinals defeated the Dodgers.
Bob Tiemann gave a short presentation on opening games of the World Series. He noted that the team winning the opener has gone on to win 69 of the 107 previous Series.
Jim Leefers won the monthly trivia contest compiled by Bob Tiemann. This one was on “The Postseason – MLB Playoffs Since 1994.”
Before leaving, chapter members wrote their predictions for the World Series, to be discussed at next month’s meeting, Monday, November 18, at The Original Crusoe’s.
