SABR

Tokyo Chapter meeting recap - 1/21/2013

The Tokyo Chapter held its quarterly winter meeting on January 19, 2013, at Shiba no Tori Ichidai restaurant in Tokyo, Japan.

Toyoaki Hiroma spoke about the late SABR member Ryoya Tobe. Yoshihiro Koda made a presentation about Shohei Otani, who has regarded as one of the best high school players in 2012. Otani has announced he would like to join an American team rather than be a professional in Japan. But the Nippon Ham Fighters have succeeded in changing his mind. Koda praised the Fighters' efforts and analyzed the background of this situation.

We also held our annual auction. Participants have sold their own baseball books or souvenirs as auction style. It is an annual event at Tokyo Chapter.

Our next meeting will be held on April 20, 2013, at the same location.

Thank you for your attention.

— Yoshihiro Koda
Vice Chair, Tokyo Chapter
