Retrosheet announces Summer 2016 updates
By David W. Smith
I am pleased to announce the Summer 2016 update of the Retrosheet website.
Many updates and additions have been made to event files, along with updated game logs and transaction data. The major inputters to the event files have been David Vincent, Cliff Blau, Mark Pankin, Gary Frownfelter, Howard Johnson, Bob Kapla, and Dick Cramer.
The Most Wanted list on our website has been updated to reflect our progress. The discrepancy files for 1956-1972 have undergone thorough proofing and they are now on the website. The most significant additions to older seasons are the deduced files for 1945 and the box score files for 1912. The bulk of deductions have been completed by Tom Thress, Jim Wohlenhaus, John Gabcik and Bill McMahon. As usual, Tom Ruane provided the leadership for the proofing of the box score files project. Other contributors (a partial list to be sure) were Dave Lamoureaux, Mike Grahek, Herm Krabbenhoft, Jonathan Frankel (AL strikeout and base on balls) and Charles Seager, who provided a lot of RBI for 1914.
Thanks to our wonderful volunteers who contribute so much of their time to keep us moving forward!
