Sarris: The older the player, the better he is during ... day games?

From SABR member Eno Sarris at The Athletic on September 13, 2017:

Jeff Samardzija was complaining. This and that, and something else — I stopped him.

“Uh, so you sound like an old man right now. What did you complain about when you were young?”

The veteran Giants pitcher's reply was immediate: “Day games.”

The rhythm of life is unmistakable and nearly universal. We have larger friend groups and go out more often and for later in the day, in our younger years. Gradually, over time, your social sphere narrows, you have kids, and your bedtime creeps towards sundown, not away from it.
