Field of Dreams Chapter meeting recap
Eleven members and guests of the Field of Dreams Chapter gathered in Suite 212 at Des Moines’ Principal Park for a meeting and ballgame on Saturday, June 25.
Tim Rask presented a brief history of the Midwest League All-Stars vs. the Iowa Oaks, a four-year series played during the 1974-77 seasons. Steve Elsberry followed with some research of this season’s MLB attendance for interleague games, finding that, yes, there has been a small bump in attendance over regular AL and NL games.
The group then sat back to enjoy the Iowa Cubs rally to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Albuquerque Isotopes.
