Scott Bush
Chief Executive Officer
Scott Bush joined SABR in 2018 after serving as the Senior Vice President for Business Development with the Goldklang Group. His demonstrated commitment to creativity and his established track record of generating revenue, cultivating new markets, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders make Bush an ideal fit for the next stage of SABR’s evolution within the baseball ecosystem. Since graduating from the University of Minnesota, Bush held positions with increasing responsibilities in both sports and media, including a five-year stint as Assistant General Manager for the St. Paul Saints, where he played a key role in establishing CHS Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. Scott Carter
Executive Vice President
Scott Carter joined SABR in 2020 after serving as the Director of Marketing and Corporate Partnerships at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, the spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. His career also includes lead marketing and event planning roles with decorated Minor League Baseball clubs, where his creative and collaborative strengths drove increased attendance and revenues for the Durham Bulls, Fresno Grizzlies, and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Carter now resides in Gilbert, Arizona, with his wife, Kianey, and two sons.
Jacob Pomrenke
Director of Editorial Content
Jacob Pomrenke joined the SABR staff in 2011. He has been an active SABR member since 1998 and is the chairman and newsletter editor for SABR’s Black Sox Scandal Research Committee. He is the editor of Scandal on the South Side: The 1919 Chicago White Sox, published by SABR in 2015, and the Eight Myths Out project in 2019. He has written about baseball scandals and has made appearances as a subject-matter expert on MLB Network, ESPN, PBS, Fox Sports, and many other TV, radio, and online media outlets. He spent 10 years working as a reporter, page designer, and editor at the North County Times and San Bernardino Sun newspapers in California, and The Times in Gainesville, Georgia.
Jessica Smyth
Membership Services Manager
Jessica Smyth joined the SABR staff in 2022 after serving as a Digital Coordinator with Heritage Werks, where she managed and maintained digital archives for corporate clients and institutions. She has a master’s degree in public history from Middle Tennessee State University and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of West Alabama.
Ken Carrano
Business Operations Manager
Ken Carrano joined SABR in 2023 after serving as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Operations for Landscape Concepts Management, a large landscape services provider in suburban Chicago. He holds a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in finance from DePaul University in Chicago. A lifelong White Sox fan and SABR member since 1995, he has contributed to both the SABR Games and Biography Projects.
