SABR Fellows

The SABR Fellowship Program is designed to provide opportunities for students and young professionals to learn, grow, and succeed through participation in SABR symposiums such as the Analytics Conference, Annual Convention, Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference, Frederick Ivor-Campbell 19th Century Base Ball Conference, and the SABR Arizona Fall League Experience. Over the past eight years, nearly half of all previous SABR Fellows have found full-time employment in the baseball industry.

SABR Fellows gain membership to the organization, providing them with a litany of ongoing benefits, including access to SABR’s library of research resources and publications, groundbreaking baseball research, and camaraderie among a community of baseball scholars and fans.

The SABR Analytics Conference brings the top minds of the baseball analytic community under one roof to discuss, debate, and share insightful ways to analyze and examine the great game of baseball. SABR Fellows gain membership to the organization, providing them with a litany of ongoing benefits, including access to SABR’s library of research resources and publications, groundbreaking baseball research, and camaraderie among a community of baseball scholars and fans.

The SABR Annual Convention includes top featured speakers from around the baseball world — front office executives, players, managers, scouts, journalists, historians, and analysts — innovative panel discussions, research presentations, ballgames, and most of all, the opportunity to make baseball friendships over the course of this exciting and memorable event. SABR Fellows gain membership to the organization, providing them with a litany of ongoing benefits, including access to SABR’s library of research resources and publications, groundbreaking baseball research, and camaraderie among a community of baseball scholars and fans.

SABR’s Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference, hosted by SABR’s Negro Leagues Research Committee, has been the only symposium dedicated exclusively to the examination and promotion of black baseball history for more than two decades. SABR Fellows also gain membership to the organization, providing them with a litany of ongoing benefits, including access to SABR’s library of research resources and publications, groundbreaking baseball research, and camaraderie among a community of baseball scholars and fans.

The Frederick Ivor-Campbell 19th Century Base Ball Conference, held annually in Cooperstown, New York, fosters research on all facets of baseball before 1901. Last year’s conference was highlighted by a panel discussion on “The Birth of Baseball Cards” and a special presentation called “The Evolution of Baseball Rules”, and research presentations. SABR Fellows gain membership to the organization, providing them with a litany of ongoing benefits, including access to SABR’s library of research resources and publications, groundbreaking baseball research, and camaraderie among a community of baseball scholars and fans.

Our annual Arizona Fall League Experience is held in conjunction with the Arizona Fall League, baseball’s premier player development league. SABR Fellows gain membership to the organization, providing them with a litany of ongoing benefits, including access to SABR’s library of research resources and publications, groundbreaking baseball research, and camaraderie among a community of baseball scholars and fans.
