Karen DeLuca Stephens
/in /by Jacob PomrenkeKAREN DE LUCA STEPHENS grew up in East Boston
before girls played Little League ball but thanks to her dad, she
was on the diamond for team practices. Karen joined SABR
in 2019. After she presented her documentary One Heck of a
Game, about her father’s championship game in Fenway Park
in 1937, at a 2019 Boston SABR meeting, the film was included
in the 2020 SABR National Convention. For this 2004 Red Sox
commemorative book, she and her sister, Keley Russo, decided
to work together and would like to dedicate the fun they had
on the project to their dad, Amedeo “Babe” DeLuca. Karen is
a writer and lives in Mexico City and New York City with her
husband. They have five grown children and two granddaughters.
