Juan Marichal Chapter meeting recap – 9/26/2019
Ten members of the SABR Juan Marichal Chapter in the Dominican Republic attended the chapter’s monthly meeting on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at its 121st Nicolas Ureña de Mendoza site in Los Prados, Santo Domingo.
The topic of conversation was the playoff situations in the big leagues and the beginning of the winter Dominican League in professional baseball. There were different arguments about why this year there is a new record of home runs and at the same time also of strikeouts in the majors. Is the ball juiced? Are the hitters swinging widly or the pitchers are improved? Much discussion was made at our meeting.
