Former Red Sox pitcher Manny Delcarmen treated about 30 SABR members and guests to an inside look at his career as he held forth for more than an hour at the Southern New England Chapter’s spring meeting on June 22, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in North Attleborough, Massachusetts.

The meeting also featured an appearance by SABR member Keith O’Brien of Lee, New Hampshire, author of Charlie Hustle, a new biography of Pete Rose.

O’Brien and Delcarmen each entertained the audience for more than an  hour. In between we managed to squeeze in presentations by Herb Crehan and Joanne Hulbert on SABR’s new program Memory Care Outreach; Steve Krevisky (Notable Events in Seasons Ending in 4); and Dixie Tourangeau (Back in Their Day, the Toughest Guys to Whiff).
