Mathewson-Plank Chapter meeting recap – 6/13/2024
On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the Mathewson-Plank SABR Chapter had a Hot Stove Zoom discussion. These Hot Stove discussions will take place monthly on the second Thursday of the month. Next month’s date is Thursday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m., so please mark your calendars.
Topics discussed among the small group included:
- Favorite Ballparks including childhood memories
- The rise in the price of tickets to MLB games and how this might affect the sport and in particular the minor league attendance
- The London Series and baseball internationally
- Gambling and the impact to baseball; the recent ban/suspension of players
- Hall of Fame criteria for current players with the changes to the game (i.e. Wins for pitcher, BA for hitters)
