“10 Rings” Tells Story of Cardinals’ Triumphs

Remember how the Cardinals stumbled their way into the playoffs in 2006, then went on to win the World Series?

My friend Jim Rygelski does.

Rygelski has co-written the book “10 Rings,” which covers the Redbirds’ 10 World Series titles. He and his co-author, Bob Tiemann, released it this year through Reedy Press.

What this book does is give you hope that even in an up-and-down season like the team has had in 2011, it can pull its act together at the right time and still win the Major League Baseball championship.

The book focuses on the St. Louis squad during World Series play, but gives some background as to how the Birds got there. They rarely have run away with a pennant, more often struggling to advance to the postseason.
