2007 New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports – Call for Abstracts

The 2007 New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports will be a meeting of statisticians and quantitative analysts connected with sports teams, sports media, and universities to discuss common problems of interest in statistical modeling and analysis of sports data.

The 2007 New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports will be a meeting of statisticians and quantitative analysts connected with sports teams, sports media, and universities to discuss common problems of interest in statistical modeling and analysis of sports data.

The meeting will be sponsored jointly by the Harvard University Department of Statistics, the Section on Statistics in Sports of the American Statistical Association, the Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association, and the Section on Operations Research in Sports of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. The symposium format will be a mixture of talks and posters, as well as a panel discussion.

ABSTRACTS FOR TALKS AND POSTERS ARE NOW REQUESTED

THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS IS MAY 31, 2007.

Please e-mail abstracts as a Word or plain text file by May 31, 2007, to nessis07@gmail.com for consideration to be on the program.

Abstract instructions:
Abstracts should be no more than 250 words, and should clearly outline the

work that you would like to present. Please indicate whether you would be willing to present your work only as a talk, only as a poster, or either.

Along with your abstract, please include:
– the title of the presentation
– your name
– your affiliation
– a contact e-mail address

Decisions for accepting abstracts will be made by June 15, 2007.
