Bates/Parker: This Week in Baseball History podcast: Ichiro crosses the Pacific

From SABR members Mike Bates and Bill Parker at This Week in Baseball History podcast on November 15, 2017:

There has never been a player like Ichiro Suzuki in baseball history. Singular in his approach offensively and defensively, and in his amazing ability to rack up hits. It's hard to remember that, 17 years ago, when he signed with the Seattle Mariners, there was a great deal of skepticism about Ichiro and whether the fuss was worth it. With special guest Jim Allen (@jballallen) of the Kyodo News and the Japan Baseball Weekly podcast, Mike and Bill examine Ichiro's early life and development in Japan, his transition to American ball, and the prejudice he faced as the first Japanese-born position player in MLB history.
