This episode of the Replacement Level Podcast features Jonathan Judge. Jonathan is a senior member of Baseball Prospectus’ stat team and one of the creators of DRA. He joined me to discuss the state of defensive metrics, how DRA differs from FIP and RA/9, and why the formula for it was adjusted this year.
We looked at several pitchers that DRA views differently from the WAR models used on both FanGraphs and Baseball-Reference. Those players include Tom Glavine, Kevin Brown, and Curt Schilling.
