All baseball fans are welcome to join the Dusty Baker-Sacramento SABR Chapter for its next meeting on Saturday, November 16!

Our guest speakers will include:

  • Johnny Doskow, the voice of the Sacramento River Cats since 2001, he is on Baseball America's list of top minor league broadcasters. He sees up close the next wave of SF Giants and other pro teams' prospects. The River Cats won the 2019 Triple-A National Championship.
  • Dennis Sn​elling, baseball historian and author will speak on "Sacramento's Joe Gedeon: The Ninth Man Out" - a ballplayer associated with the 1919 Black Sox (this being the Centennial).
  • Eric C. Gray, San Francisco-based author of Bases to Bleachers: A Collection of Baseball Stories from the Stands and Beyond - will present on the focus of his book, what makes baseball so special for each of us.

This is also the 25th anniversary of our Chapter founding; we will take an opportunity to reflect back and commemorate this milestone.

Did we mention the ever-popular Trivia Contest and Book Raffle will also be conducted?

Lunch is $20; please select among the following four lunch choices: (½ Chicken Sandwich served on Garlic French Roll; ½ Garlic Steak Sandwich served on Garlic French Roll; Combination Spaghetti and Ravioli; Spring Mix Salad (Grilled Chicken optional). All meals include coffee, tea, or milk. We will also have a dessert.)

Please send us your meal choice by Saturday, November 9 to meet the restaurant's requirements. You may pay at the door or, if you wish to help speed things up, please feel free to mail a $20 check per person payable to our chapter co-chair:
