I find thinking much easier than working. Compared to daydreaming, even a frequently-mindless pursuit like watching television can feel laborious. I enjoy closing my eyes and letting my mind go where it pleases. This might be why I never get anything done. Nonetheless, I remain addicted to this drug-free form of tripping. With no new baseball to distract from the inward journeying, we’re free to bounce from baseball tale to baseball tale without minding the alarm clock that calls us to the ballpark each evening. This is one such voyage.
