Jerry Malloy Conference Recap

Nearly 70 people gathered in Chicago from June 16-19, 2005 for the 8th Annual Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference and were treated to a variety of different opportunities to learn and experience the history of the Negro Leagues.

The conference kicked off with a discussion about how to teach the history of the Leagues in the classroom. Following this lively discussion, conference host Eddie Bedford welcomed everyone and introduced the first of seven research presentations. These presentations hit on such topics as prison baseball, the west coast and Latin connection, and the early beginnings of Chicago
