JULY 28, 2021 — SABR is excited to invite you to learn more about and engage with our Baseball Memories chartered community. Since 2015, this group of SABR volunteers has been enhancing the quality of life for people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, as well as those in social isolation or living with chronic health issues.
These programs have been so successful and joyful that we want to take this moment to invite more chapters and members to get involved and grow SABR’s Baseball Memories program across the country.
Click on this link to watch a special 3-minute film produced by SABR about the benefits of this remarkable program that has touched the lives of hundreds of people in the United States.
Our Baseball Memories community of interest has 80 SABR members involved and meets monthly to gauge status and grow the program. The group has developed an extensive support system to inspire, train, and help other SABR chapters start their own programs. They recently did so with our Cleveland chapter, and are deeply committed to ensuring each chapter’s program is a home run. SABR leadership shares that sense of commitment, as the Baseball Memories program allows us to make a meaningful impact in our communities and offers SABR the opportunity to grow its profile locally and nationally.
SABR is proud of the many members who facilitate and volunteer to fuel this program that enhances the quality of life for people in memory care, their care partners, and our veterans. We’d like to see their ranks grow and invite our members to get involved in this most rewarding effort.
