SABR members gathered Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the Lane Field memorial to pay tribute to baseball great Max West who passed away in late December.
“Max had a special connection with
participation last March at our special Ted Williams symposium, and then the next day where he spoke to us at our event dedicating the Lane Field Historical Marker,” said San Diego Ted Williams SABR Chapter President Tom Larwin in a recent newsletter.
