Northwest Chapter winter meeting (Tualatin, OR)

The SABR Northwest Chapter will hold its winter meeting from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Living Savior Lutheran Church Tualatin, 8740 SW Sagert St. in Tualatin, Oregon. All baseball fans are welcome to attend this free event.

Here’s the lineup:

  • Larry D’Amato and Michael Barrett from the MLB to PDX group will lead off with the latest news about the effort to bring Major League Baseball to Oregon … and we will leave time for your questions.
  • Mike Rice will survey the 2018 Mariners season and report on the outlook for this year’s team. Plan to make your most insightful estimate as to the number of games the M’s will win this year.
  • Shawn Hennessy’s presentation, “Trading Flannels: From Pros to Joes” concerns ballplayers as soldiers.
  • Mark Armour’s topic is “WAR: What is it good for?” We’ll find out.

Rob Neyer has generously donated a copy of his award winning latest, Power Ball, which will go home with the winner of the trivia contest.
