Radom: 2015 All-Star Game logo all about the mustache

Major League Baseball’s midsummer classic, the All-Star Game, is returning to Cincinnati for the first time since 1988. 

This will be the fifth All-Star Game hosted by the Reds and the second to prominently showcase a logo with a handlebar mustache.

The 1953 All-Star Game was played at Cincinnati’s Crosley Field on July 14. A few months prior, the Cincinnati franchise made an official name change from “Reds” to “Redlegs.” With this change came a new logo, a mustachioed old-timey baseball-headed mascot who eventually came to be known as “Mr. Red” or “Mr. Redlegs.” He has endured in one shape or another in the years since his introduction, morphing along the way, but is an almost constant visual companion for the club.
