SABR accepting applications for Editorial Assistant position

Editorial Assistant

The Editorial Assistant will be responsible for helping to organize, curate, and maintain editorial content on all SABR platforms, including writing, editing, graphics, audio, video, and photography. You will also have the opportunity to manage and lead editorial projects, including assistance with SABR Digital Library publications (books, journals, and ebooks) and SABR.org web projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the SABR Director of Editorial Content and Publications Director to produce and publish original content on all SABR platforms, including online and printed publications
  • Manage special editorial projects, including the addition of book and journal articles to the online SABR Research Collection
  • Maintain book publication data and book publications workflows

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a publishing-related field
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the sports or media industries
  • Strong web production skills, including basic HTML knowledge
  • Strong proofreading or copy-editing skills
  • Experience with WordPress, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Ability to learn new publishing software
  • Ability to generate ideas and put together creative editorial packages
  • Well versed in historical and current knowledge of baseball

Job Status: Part Time (10 hours per week)

Compensation: $20/hour
