SABR’s Negro Leagues Commmittee Offers Two $2,500 Scholarships

The Negro Leagues Committee of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is sponsoring an essay contest for high school seniors, with two winners to receive $2,500 college scholarships. Students are invited to write an essay of 1,000 words or less to answer one of the following questions:

1) What influence or impact did Jackie Robinson, as the first African American to play modern day Major League baseball, have on the Civil Rights Movement?
OR
