Sarris: The one team that projection systems can’t agree on

From SABR member Eno Sarris at The Athletic on February 13, 2019:

Some​ teams are​ obvious contenders. The Red Sox, the​ Yankees,​ the Dodgers, the​ Astros, the​ Indians — these​ teams​ will​​ be good, and will probably compete for their division titles in the upcoming season. Don’t need any fancy stats to figure that out, thank you very much.

It’s in the next group where things get tricky. What will the National League East look like? The National League Central? Now it makes sense to try and project the players, sort out an idea of the depth charts, and then simulate the season based on those projections.

That should clear things right up! Let me take a big sip out of my “Best Nerd Ever” coffee mug and check the newest projections….
