Their minds still drift back to the way their hearts pounded on Sept. 21, 2001, the night baseball returned to New York after 9/11. My mind still replays the roar of that crowd.
The men who were there that evening want to believe that baseball can do for America now what it did for America then. But before we explore that idea any further, I want you to watch this moment. I want you to listen to this moment. And especially, I want you to feel this moment.
