Description
A slide of a black-and-white, full-length picture of Ty Cobb and teammates, seen disputing a call with umpire Tom Connolly. The photographs from the article "The Rules of the Game: Some famous baseball umpires and their ways" by E.B. Moss in the August 21, 1909 edition of Harper's Weekly. Cobb is to the far right, and Matty McIntyre stands beside him, holding a baseball bat. The other three members of the Tigers are unknown. Connolly is wearing an umpire uniform, while the other men are wearing Detroit Tigers uniforms. The caption under the picture reads, "A disputed decision of Connolly's."
