Lou Gehrig Works Out at First Base 1926

Description

A slide of a black-and-white full-length photograph of Lou Gehrig in position to take a throw at first base. Gehrig is leaning over in a crouch, facing toward the right of the frame. Both hands are stretched out in front of him, close to the ground. He is wearing a glove on his right hand and a New York Yankees home uniform. His left leg is stretching behind him with the toe touching the base. His right leg is bending at the knee directly under his body. A blurry image of a figure is on the right side of the image in the background. The photograph caption found outside of the collection reads, "Lou Gehrig, first baseman for the New York Yankees, works out at first base before a game at Yankee Stadium in 1926". See gehrilo01_14.
