A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Snuffy Stirnweiss. The back of card number 35 in the set reads, "35 - George Stirnweiss (Snuffy) Second Base - New York Yankees Born : New York, N. Y. Oct. 26, 1919 Bats : Right Throws : Right Height : 5 : 8 Weight : 172 Another home town boy makes good. In 1945 he led the American League in seven departments. He led all fielders in 1944. He topped the league in putouts in both 1944 and 1945. He was an All American half back at the University of North Carolina. The Sporting News named him to their All Star Major League team of 1945.
