A 1986 Card Collectors 1951 Bowman Reprint baseball card of Billy Goodman. The back of card number 237 in the set reads, "Billy Goodman Infield, Outfield -- Boston Red Sox Born: Concord, N. C., March 22, 1926 Height: 5-11 Weight: 162 Bats: Left Throws: Right Billy was slated to be the regular Sox first baseman in 1950, but he wound up as a regular outfielder, and the batting champion of the American League. Hit .354 for 110 games, and drove in 68 runs. An injury took him off first base early in the season, causing the Sox to call up Walt Dropo to guard the initial sack.
