The back of card number 63 in the set reads, "Ewell Blackwell Pitcher - Cincinnati Reds Born : Fresno, Calif., Oct. 23, 1922 Height : 6-5 1/2 Weight : 185 Bats : Right Throws : Right Ill health cut down Ewell's effectiveness in 1948 and 1949, but it looks as though the batters are headed for buggy-whip trouble in 1950. Ewell had a 22-8 record in 1947. Won most games, pitched most complete games, got most strikeouts (193). Hurled a no-hitter. Set up modern NL record for most consecutive games won by right-hander. No. 63 in the 1950 Series of Baseball Picture Cards Reprint © 1950 Bowman Gum, Inc., Phila., Pa., U.S.A." A circular Bowman logo is in the upper right corner. Text on the outside of the circle reads," Picture Card Collectors Club", and inside reads, "5 Star Bowman Series". Five stars are connected by their points and form a pentagon in the middle.
