A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Bob Elliott. The back of card number 1 in the set reads, "1 - Bob Elliott Third Base - Boston Braves Born : San Francisco, Cal. 1916 Bats : Right Throws : Right Height : 6 : 00 Weight : 185 Voted 1947's Most Valuable PLayer and batting .317. Bob made a spectacular come back after 1946, his poorest year with the Pirates since he had joined them in 1939. The trade did something for him for he also led the National League's 3rd basemen in fielding. He began in the South Atlantic League playing with Savannah.
