Description
A color slide of a photograph from the May 1968 edition of Sport magazine of Al Kaline. The photograph on page 60 accompanies the article "Al Kaline Sounds Off on his 15 Years of Pain and Joy" by Jerry Green. The full-length photograph shows Kaline wearing a Detroit Tigers home white uniform. He is standing near the right-handed batter's box at Tiger Stadium, holding his bat in his left hand with the bat head touching the ground as he stares toward the mound. His uniform number 6 is visible on the back of his uniform. Kaline blocks the catcher, who is partially in the crouched position and is unidentified. The Umpire is holding a balloon chest protector and is wearing a black umpire's face mask. Information written on the physical slide reads, "Sport 5/68"
