Description
A slide of a black-and-white, full-length photograph of Willie Mays of the Cangrejeros de Santurce hitting the ball in the 1955 Caribbean Series. The photograph is from the first base side of the field near home plate. Mays is in the right-handed batter's box, with his body twisting as he swings, making his right side visible. Behind home plate are an unknown crouching catcher and umpire, also in profile with their right side visible. Santurce (representing Puerto Rico) won the series, which took place between February 10 - 15 in Venezuela. See mayswi01_085.
