Description

A slide of an autographed black-and-white photograph of Jackie Robinson, seen wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform and sliding back into first base, feet first, in a cloud of dust. His left hand is on the ground, and his right arm is in the air, in an L-shape, and from his feet to the knees, his legs are obscured by the cloud of dust. Boston Braves, Frank McCormick is behind him, crouching, looking in Robinson's direction as he tags him out. The play happened in the first inning of the first game of a doubleheader on September 6, 1948 at Braves Field. The photo is autographed, "Best wishes, Jackie Robinson"
