He is wearing a suit with a necktie and a wristwatch on his left wrist. The photo shows him with white hair, well passed his playing days which concluded after the 1956 season. Rickey as president and general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers signed Robinson to a professional baseball contract ensuring that Robinson would become the first African American to join a professional sports team. Rickey died on December 9, 1965, at the age of 83.
