Stan Musial Greeted at Dugout by Teammates

Description

A slide of a black-and-white photograph of Stan Musial being greeted at the visitor's dugout at Dodger Stadium after breaking the National League all-time hits record, previously held by Honus Wagner. Musial is seen full-length and is wearing a St. Louis Cardinals road uniform and cap. He is smiling with his arms slightly outstretched and is seen in profile as he approaches the dugout from about two feet away. Ernie Broglio is greeting him in the dugout with his body facing the camera with his head turned to his right to greet Musial. Broglio is smiling with his left arm at shoulder height and his right arm not yet raised. Behind and to the left of Broglio is Ray Sadecki, smiling as he runs and faces the camera, with his head turned slightly to look at Musial. Behind and to the right of Broglio is Larry Jackson, who is facing the camera while looking at Musial with a stoic look. There is an unidentified uniformed player pictured behind Jackson, but only his right arm and shoulder are visible. Broglio, Sadecki, and Jackson are all wearing St. Louis Cardinals jackets, with Broglio and Jackson also wearing St. Louis Cardinals caps. There are four baseball gloves on the top step of the dugout. Visible above the dugout are about 20 fans in the first row of the stands, most of whom are standing. Information written on the slide reads, "After setting N.L. Hit Record - 3431 c. 1962" See musiast01_49.
