Seen in the background, hands on hips, is a smiling stadium guard and a few adults. Further back are fans, all smiling, sitting just behind the dugout. The drawn scene takes up the top half of an ad for the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, Boston, Massachusetts in what appears to be a magazine page. Written below the artwork are the words "He showed us how to play the game". On the bottom half of the page, written in two columns, is an inspirational tribute to the Babe on how he played the game and how he treated people. Written on the physical slide is “Advertisement". An interesting note about the ad is that Ruth is wearing a NY Yankees pinstripe home uniform with the intertwined NY insignia on the front left side of the jersey. However, during Ruth's time with the Yankees (1920-1934), the Yankees uniform, neither home nor away, ever bore the NY insignia. It wasn't until 1936 that the insignia on the jersey uniform returned, one year after The Babe left the Yankees. Research indicates the ad may be from 1950.
