Description
A slide of a black-and-white photograph of page 136 of the June 26, 1956 issue of LOOK magazine. Ted Williams is shown batting in game action with his bat pointed behind him and parallel to his waist. An unidentified catcher and umpire are behind Williams, with the catcher rising up from his crouch and appearing ready to catch the pitch. The caption of the photo reads, “1. Here I am, a gangly 17, breaking in with San Diego in ’36. I got into 42 games, hit .271.” A portion of another photo is visible at the left side of the image. The photos were part of a pictorial entitled, “Ted Williams: My baseball memory book.” The magazine is numbered Vol 20, No. 13 and is copyrighted by Cowles Magazines, Inc.
