Cliff Kachline Chapter Induction Day meeting recap – 7/24/2016

SABR’s Cliff Kachline Chapter met on Sunday, July 24, 2016, following the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony of Mike Piazza and Ken Griffey, Jr., the second largest Induction ever (with an estimated crowd of 50,000) in Cooperstown, New York.

We had a solid turnout of our own, over 40 people. Erik Sherman discussed his latest book, Kings of Queens, a Boys of Summer type account of the 1986 Mets. Mike Aronstein, baseball card pioneer and co-founder of TCMA, had the crowd in stitches with his account of the ups and downs of the card business. Bill Himmelman, former NBA historian, gave an informative presentation on multi-sport athletes.

Our next meeting will be October 15 at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
