Rocky Mountain Chapter ‘State of the Rockies’ recap – 4/22/2017
The Rocky Mountain Chapter held its Annual State of the Rockies address by Jeff Bridich, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Colorado Rockies and fellow SABR member on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017, at Blue Moon Brewing Company in the RiNo neighborhood of Denver near Coors Field.
Paul Parker, Colorado Rockies Historian, Chapter President, and the afternoon’s Master of Ceremonies, welcomed all for lunch for those interested in partaking.
The afternoon’s program “State of the Rockies” with Jeff Bridich as the featured speaker for the afternoon began with Mr. Parkers introductions. Mr. Bridich talked about the changes in the managing and coaching staff and the winter signing activity focusing on pitching. He also spoke about construction of the team roster and the players on the DL from spring training injuries. He fielded questions regarding the use of electronics in the dug-out, international scouting, WBC, AFL, and the length of spring training and their impacts overall.
All guests were treated to a fine afternoon of baseball conversation and comradery on a beautiful spring day with 39 people in attendance.
